“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: To the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day. The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised—the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives.” (2 Peter 3:8-9)
COME HOME!
“Most importantly, love each other deeply, because love will cause people to forgive each other for many sins. Open your homes to each other, without complaining. Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.” (1 Peter 4:8-10)
Now is the time!
“There is a time for everything, and everything on earth has its special season .- There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 from New Century Version & “The Message”)
An Exile Called COVID!
“Soon all the Israelites started complaining. They said, “We want meat! We remember the fish we ate for free in Egypt. We also had cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!” (Numbers 11:4-6)
Approaching Lent
When people are tempted and still continue strong, they should be happy. After they have proved their faith, God will reward them with life forever. God promised this to all those who love him.” (James 1:12)
Fear vs. Wisdom & Understanding
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
(Proverbs 9:10)
COVID-19 Update
We are taking extreme measures to ensure safety for our members – probably going over the top – but we really feel the Holy Spirit leading us to make these decisions now. We are going to do our best to keep folks connected. Please let the office – or Pastor Dan – know of any pastoral needs. We will always keep abreast of changes that may come our way or be announced.
Journey Through the Unknown
“But I’ll take the hand of those who don’t know the way- who can’t see where they’re going. I’ll be a personal guide to them, directing them through unknown country. I’ll be right there to show them what roads to take, make sure they don’t fall into the ditch. These are the things I’ll be doing for them—sticking with them, not leaving them for a minute.” (Isaiah 42:16 from the Message)
Coming Back to Worship!
Summit Church Family – here are the plans for our first ‘in-person’ worship this upcoming Sunday, June 14th! We look forward to this slow journey of coming back together as a worshiping community! These plans will continue through Labor Day weekend – but will be evaluated monthly in our ever-changing situation.
The Holy Spirit at Work
“When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force—no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building. Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.” (Acts 2:1-4 from the Message)
